The unwatermarked varieties of the 20 ct. and 60 ct. occurred because of a defective process in the manufacture of the watermarked paper. Only a small section of some of the sheets the watermarks fading aout. Plate varieties exist: broken letters, missing dots. Counterfeits: Beware of the unwatermarked varieties (bot 20 ct. and 60 ct.) |

All three values (20, 40 and 60ct.) were printed together verticaly on a sheet. Total issue 24 sheetlets of the three values in the colors as listed.

Printed in sheets of 10 stamps (2x5), size 24 mm x 18 mm.
The essays were originally printed as proofs, but complaint of the designer that the stamps were too small and the design completely lost, they were modified to a much larger size.
