Data
Prin house: German printing house in Kaunas

Sheet: 20 stamps on aprox. 136x111 mm (1st printing) and 141x115 mm (2nd printing)
Paper: Yellowish, without gum
Watermarks: Unwatermarked
Perforation: 11½, edges of sheet not perforated
Notes: The design modified from erlier issues. Type set text in four lines within a rectangle of 6x9 ovals.

Only two official printings were made. 3rd and 4th printing was unofficial and are known as the "MARIJAMPOLË" issues, because the CTO stamps have this cancelation on single stamps and full sheets. The paper is lighter, type is more uniform. These stamps are collectible.

Cancelations "KAUNAS" dated before February 6 (1919) and all "GRODNO" violet are on stamps of 1st printing.

Counterfeits: White paper, cleaner type with 40 sk. and 50 sk. values that do not exist!

interesting samples:

Canceled "GRODNO" (1st printing). All stamps in pos. 1 have dot in oval (left 3rd from above).
